COMS 6003: WEEK_03

A lot was covered in this week’s class. We reviewed the syllabus for the benefit of those who did not attend the first lecture. We briefly discussed the first lecture posted on line and then dove into the week’s lecture on Cultural Imperialism.

Additionally we were invited to review reflective writing frameworks and adapt them into our journaling practice. Schon’s Reflective Model, is my preferred method. On review it allows for a clear organization of my weekly thoughts without interrupting my overall stream of consciousness tendencies. I will edit my entries to include both Reflection in Action (RIA) to describe findings while observing my own positionality and feelings, and Reflection on Action (ROA) to evaluate and reference these observations with added citation. Each week I will continue to assess the assignments and my research project against the lessons and required readings. It seems the most feasible.

This week I’ll spend time on both the Paired Assignment and the first Individual Assignment. I believe Schon’s Reflection Model would benefit the real time and ongoing review of the material for the assignment.
